Birding Information
The neo-tropical migration for 2009 was a good one. Orioles, warblers, thrushes, tanagers, grosbeaks, buntings are
just a few of the sightings. It's one of the annual wonders of Coastal Texas and this event didn't last long. For 2010 I am
offering a spring migration special for birding trips covering everthing from Pollywog Pond on the Nueces River to Paradise
Pond in Port Aransas. These special rate trips start at $130 for 2 persons and $65 each for additional persons for half-day
trips. Full day trips are $210 for 2 persons and $105 for each additional person (4 person max). Call now to take advantage of

Full day trips typically begin at 8:00AM and conclude by 4:30PM. Captain Billy gives special attention to species of interest
for each charter. Photographs are encouraged and are typically best taken in the afternoon or later half of the trip.
Birding Trips that tour the Padre Island National Seashore currently run $400. for 2 persons. 2 people min price . $100. each
additional person over 2. These trips typically tour the entire length of the National Seashore and as previously mentioned will
give special attention to particular interests of each charter.

Captain Billy Sandifer has been a devoted birder on the Padre Island National Seashore for 18 years. He has monitored bird
populations and documented numerous rare sightings including Brown Boobies, Brown Noddies, Black-legged Kittawake,
Glaucous and Sabine's Gulls and Aztec Thrush." He also has found the only nesting
hummingbird on record on Padre Island and the only adult male Wood Duck ever recorded on Padre Island.
When not guiding fishermen or birders, Capt. Billy works as an Audubon Coastal Warden in the Upper
Laguna Madre working with Colonial Waterbird rookeries. Capt. Billy is a full time
featured writer for Texas Saltwater Fishing Magazine in which he also features
a "Bird of the Month" column each magazine issue. Captain Billy is a long time outdoors writer and has written over 300 published
outdoor articles.
